In 2018, KGI Securities was ranked No.1 in the market for the second straight year as it led a total of 27 equity deals, including IPOs, CBs, and SPOs, with a market share of 14%. The excellent performance is highly recognized by its clients. The company was awarded “#2 Fund-Raising performance” by TPEX, and two awards by the TWSE, such as “#2 Stock Float”, and “#3 IPO Fund-Raising” in 2018“.
As for 2018 equity deals, KGI Securities launched 9 IPOs and initiated 18 SPOs. As to the IPO deals, KGI Securities successfully launched deals including for companies in a diverse range of industries , including the electronic, biotech, environmental protection, chemical, shipping and furniture manufacturing industries, with the companies being PBF, Global TEK, E&E, Foresee, Shane Global, CS, GMM and CBN. Among them, Shane Global is a high-end customized furniture manufacturing factory. Its main customers are well-known high-end brands in North America. The customized products have been used by the White House. As for SPOs, KGI Securities initiated many well-known companies, such as MPI, Tanvex, HIWIN, FOCI, Lemtech-KY, Epi, Casetek-KY, TSC, GPI, FRMSL, DA-CIN and YFC (Preferred Stock). Overall, KGI Securities was the top lead manager in Taiwan’s capital market in 2018 by both amount and number of deals, helping many firms raise funds in the capital market and securing its leadership position in the underwriting market.
KGI Securities also led the industry in financial advisory services in 2018, completing more than 20 M&As and strategic alliances. These deals included some cross-border ones such as Nitto Boseki’s tender offer for BAOTEK, Energy Absoulute Public Company’s tender offer for Amita and Nidec Corporation’s tender offer for CCI. Besides, KGI has completed famous domestic deals such as CHILISIN’s tender offer for MAGIC, NSP’s acquisition of GINTECH and Solartech, KAIMEI’s acquisition of BH, UTECHZONE’s tender offer for Favite, ASE’s tender offer for SPIL included the creation of transformation investment holding companies. KGI was awarded “ Best M&A” by The Asset and “ Best Taiwan Deal as a Financial Advisor “ by Finance Asia because of the jumbo deal, ASE’s tender offer for SPIL. Bloomberg statistics show that the number of advisory deals handled by KGI Securities in 2018 was No. 1 in Taiwan M&A market for the second straight year. The outstanding performance of KGI in the financial advisory business has been recognized by both professional institutions and the industry.
