KGI Bank commands an industry-leading Corporate Finance business, serving a wide scope of customers from medium and large enterprises to start-ups. The Division targets private companies with significant operations, and aiming for international trading business, KGI Bank mainly provides short-term loans for working capital and medium-term syndicated or secured loans with tenor of less than five years. Besides credit, the bank also offers comprehensive products and services, including foreign exchange, cash management and trade finance. The Merchant Banking Division aims to use the aforementioned products to break into the four regional markets of Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

It provides a comprehensive product portfolio based on clients’ demands and risk appetite, in a bid to assist clients in perfecting capital allocation and risk management.  

• Corporate Wealth Management

Corporate wealth management services are intended to meet the banking needs of high net worth corporate clients that require financial services other than funding. With the integrated resources of the financial holding company, KGI Bank offers financial services that include deposits, insurance, mutual funds, bonds, stocks, trust, and financial consulting, so that clients can profit from asset allocation and accumulate wealth.

Merchant Banking

• Financial advisory business

CDF has long been involved in major public infrastructure projects in Taiwan and has been at the forefront of financial advisory of such projects for years. Our financial advisory business strategy is to provide clients with a total solution of financial services from assets, debt and shareholders’ equity. Ultimately, it aims to provide a comprehensive one-stop professional financial service from consultation to execution.

• Structured finance business

M&A financing and leveraged buyout financing are the key products of the Merchant Banking Division’s structured finance business. With rich experience in international capital markets, KGI Bank boasts comprehensive financial advisory services and the ability to benefit from CDF’s deep industrial knowledge in the Asia-Pacific region and its close-knit networks of private equity funds and investment banks. As such, the bank targets Asia-Pacific-based clients seeking financing for cross-border M&As, leveraged buyouts, and growth capital. In short, the Merchant Banking Division mainly provides the following structured finance services including LBO financing, mezzanine financing and growth capital, thus helping clients create value and enhance operating synergies.
 
 Large scale structured financing is often delivered in the form of a syndicated loan, which is also one of the primary products of merchant banking. As the size of a business grows, a syndicated loan is the most preferred financing solution. In addition to supporting capital expenditures and operating activities, KGI Bank has also engaged in project financing in Taiwan, and has thus accumulated solid experience. Some of the most renowned syndicated loans that we were involved in recently are for power plant development, industrial park development, and acquisitions (power plant equities, cable TV and business M&As in the Greater China area). We will seek business opportunities from overseas business clients and private equity firms to provide structured financing and syndicated loans, and leverage our network in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Greater China market in collaboration with KGI Securities to provide integrated financing services covering the design of syndicated loan products, exclusive sales/bought deal and placement.
